I always do enjoy hearing from fellow collectors and or model builders. Some of my best friends have been people I have met because of my hobbies. Sadly, lately I seem to have less and less time to build the projects I have accumulated over the years. Luckily I have gotten better about keeping focused on a few select projects that include: Millineun Falcon filming replica, full size Lost In Space Robot, Pulse Rifle made from the MARUI bb firing Thompson, and a full size R2 D2.Frequently asked Questions and Answers
The Falcon pretty much occupies my time. It's a labor of love. I do get ALOT of comments and questions about my collections, work, and articles that I have written in magazines such as MODELERS RESOURCE, SCI FI FANTASY and AMAZING FIGURE MODELER. While I enjoy hearing from everyone, you might want to read below to see if someone else has already asked the question you were about to. If they haven't, do drop a line. I'll get to you as soon as I can.
Question: WHY do some of your
links not work?
Answer: Have not
got to them yet.
Question: Will you be selling
castings of your Falcon?
Answer: Nope.
Question: WHY are replica
PROPS SO EXPENSIVE??
Answer: Excellent
question. Resin,. RTV Silicone, Various Parts, and most of all.....TIME
are all Very Expensive.
Question: iS ANYTHING ON YOUR WEB PAGE
FOR SALE?
Answer: Probably not, but
it never hurts to ask. Many of the items on my page have possibly already been
sold.
Question: Do you have plans?
Answer: Yes . Gonna clean
my garage this saturday. Kidding. For most of my projects...I make
the plans as I go. I keep little after something is done.
Question: Where
do you
get your reference.
Answer: The web, books, contacts
and friendships I have made. If you found this website, you are on
the right track.
Question: Can you send
me pics and reference you have collected.
Answer: No. I just
don't have the time to answer every request I get for materials.
I get two to three a day, sorry!
Question: How long have
you been building models or collecting.
Answer: Been building
models since I was 8 in one form or another. I have only done so
"seriously" in the last few years. I started PROP collecting
when I was 16. Im 43 now.
Question: Im building something
and need help can I ask a question?
Answer: Sure. I
hope I have an intelligent answer, I don't mind helping a fellow
modeler, especially if they are willing to throw me a technique or two,
or info. It's the emails with "1,000 questions" or folks writing
and
asking
for my "Kit list". I
just don't
have the time to answer.
Have a question? Ill add it here if you email it to me. My best advice...do your own research. Not everyone you ask will have the right answer. Buy what you can within your budget. Watch out for less than honest "people". If you are building your own. CONGRATS!!! Its a worthwhile adventure. Don't get hung up on detail unless you find satisfaction in the identification of THAT ONE PART!! Only YOU know what is accurate and what is not and sometimes you will find that you have made a mistake. You may find your prop looks even better than what was filmed! Do your homework. Good Luck!!
