Here is a "prop" that was SOLD as the "ORIGINAL" NARCISSUS to a collector who shall remain nameless. While the model was changing hands, the model was molded and several copies of it sold. Several of which you see on EBAY now and then. Including one from a certian collector in COLORADO.

He has been selling knock offs of this for years. Anyhow, because the model was too big for the rotocast machine, the NOSE had to be removed. A very good friend of mine who was a well known and respected Hollywood Model Builder was hired to Cut off the nose, and repair the prop once the it wa done being molded.

While the note was being removed, an interesting discovery was made. The very expensive "original" prop was found to be made of fiberglass and resin. Which is strange because the REAL prop shown below (courtesy of Mr. Bower), was made of perspex (acrylic).

Talk about things that make ya go "HMMMM"
